- From Mar-Jun 2019, I worked with The Caravan, India’s finest narrative nonfiction magazine, on their audience strategy and revenue models.
- When I entered, the model in place was primarily advertising-driven. At a time when print ad revenues were declining fast, globally and in India, this was causing fatigue in the org and over-reliance on one stream of income. I advocated for subscriptions to become a new stream of revenue, surveying 200+ readers and Google Analytics data to create multiple reader/subscriber personas to target. The Caravan is now both ad- and subscription-driven.
